Lettering enthusiasts, rejoice! Typism is bringing you two free online summits this year. That’s right—two—a Skills Summit in January and a Business of Lettering Summit in July.
The free three-day Skills Summit—tailored for lettering artists of all skill levels—is set to run from January 24th to 26th, 2024 (evenings in the USA/Europe), which is also January 25th to 27th, 2024 (mornings in Australia/New Zealand/Pacifica).
With 23 lettering artists coming together to share their wisdom with you for free, this is a great way to start your new year.
Every Typism Summit presentation is delivered in under 20 minutes and meticulously crafted to enhance your lettering skills, with actionable demonstrations and techniques to help you refine your craft and create beautiful letterforms.
The lineup boasts an impressive array of lettering artists, including Jimbo Bernaus from Shoutbam Studio, who will help you Build Letters With Confidence using Procreate on the iPad; Maria Montes, who will demonstrate the Principles of Script Lettering using Handwriting; and Tamer Ghoneim, who will teach you the Foundations of Blackletter Calligraphy.
The online schedule allows you to tune in from the comfort of your couch or favourite coffee shop. If you register for your free ticket, we will send you the materials list beforehand so you can be fully prepared to take on some fun new lettering projects this January.
But the summit doesn’t end with the presentations. You can also participate in live Q&A sessions with the speakers, show off your new skills in the vibrant Facebook community, and win Typism prizes.
The summit Q+A sessions are hosted by Dominique Falla, a seasoned design educator and the founder of Typism. Over the past few summits, we have had some fantastic questions and conversations from the summit participants. Dominique always looks for the most engaged people in the Facebook group and Zoom Room chats to award Summit BINGO prizes.
