Typism Book 6: Behind the Scenes 5

Each year we feature some behind the scenes shots of the process behind some successful Typism submissions. This week we are sharing Lavinia Valentina. 

Lavinia is a lettering and monoline lover and works as an Art Director at Friends\TBWA Bucharest.

Lavinia starts off with a rough sketch of her concept. 

She then takes the sketch into Procreate. In Procreate she draws a white rectangle then adds in the spacing.

Lavinia then works on shaping the letterforms, to create a more curved, organic look.

Seeing the opportunity to fill the space created by the P and L, Lavinia uses a coin, tying in with the concept. 

Taking the final Procreate outcome into both Illustrator and Photoshop, she adds the coin, texture and shadowing finishing off the piece.

We are really impressed by Lavinia's work, how everything fits and ties in together. You will find this artwork in the upcoming Typism Book 6.
