  •  Learn to write the entire Copperplate lowercase alphabet 

  • Discover letterform anatomy 

  • Explore letter construction using broad-edged & pointed nibs, ink, and guides 

  • Understand the relationship between width and letter spacing 

  • Learn about script alphabets, slant, ligatures and ductus by doing

About Maria Montes

 

Maria Montes is a Barcelona-born, Melbourne-based designer, calligrapher, and educator. With over 20 years of industry experience, her work bridges traditional craftsmanship and modern branding applications. She is passionate about sharing her love of letterforms with the next generation of creatives. 
Montes studied a Postgraduate Course in Advanced Typography in Barcelona and a Condensed Program in Typeface Design at Type@Cooper in NYC. In 2018 she released her first chromatic font family called Green Fairy, and in 2025 Maria has just released her second display font called Kanat Latin.
